jumping

Today was the rest day, workout was just 500 jumps. First time I've had jumping to do and I am the single most uncoordinated person on the planet. Don't think I ever got through more than 10 in a row. In the beginning I couldn't get 5, so I guess 10 by the end was some sort of progress - but not much. Oh well, I'm sure it will come sooner or later.

  1. It'll come dude, fo sho. When we all started 5 x50, it seemed like the most ridiculous thing ever, but you'll be surprised. You will get the hang of it. I think for all of us it's still a work in progress, but I feel light years ahead of where I was on the first day of jumping. Longest single set I've done is 400 and that included more than 250+ without tripping. Day 1 it was like 12, 8, 3, 10, 3, 12, etc...just keep at it.

  2. It is definitely something that you'll get better at, it takes less time to do the jumps now (which are 5x more) than it did on day one when I couldn't get any kind of flow going, you'll get there Rocky...eye of the tiger!

  3. Be patient, jumping requires about a dozen different muscle groups to talk to each other. It takes time for the neurons to connect.

  5. Don't worry about the trips... we're at 1150 now and I'm still having days of 10 then trip... it just makes for a very patient start to the overall workout. :)
